Understanding the Conscious Oncology Approach
I am back today, picking up where I left off a few weeks ago, breaking down the Conscious Oncology Wheel. Before we get into today's topic, I want to give you a brief overview of the philosophy of Conscious Oncology so you can understand how today's topic—the mental component—fits into the larger context of this approach.
Conscious Oncology is rooted in the belief that our bodies are naturally designed to heal. Achieving this healing requires a holistic balance, encompassing physical nourishment, emotional well-being, mental clarity, and spiritual alignment. By integrating the proper nutrients—beyond just food to include emotional, mental, and spiritual sustenance—and actively detoxifying what doesn't serve us, we create a clear vessel for healing.
The Conscious Oncology approach presents a set of guiding principles rather than rigid rules. Each pillar contributes to the overall picture of health, offering insights into achieving wellness across different aspects of life. For example, last week, I taught a workshop on the impact of emotions on our health and well-being. The workshop focused on recognizing and releasing trauma to lighten our emotional load and enhance the body's natural healing capacity.
Through the lens of Conscious Oncology, rather than seeing emotional trauma as something ‘terrible,' we acknowledge that it is essential to recognize its presence so we can use emotional practices to address and clear it. By becoming aware of and working through these emotions, we can prevent them from weighing us down and improve the body's ability to heal.
We use the same approach for the other components of the wheel, which represent the various aspects of the ‘Self'—including the mental, physical, and spiritual facets.
The Conscious Oncology approach can stand independently, but it also complements conventional treatments, allowing you to incorporate these holistic practices alongside traditional methods. Ultimately, Conscious Oncology empowers you to align and prepare your body to heal itself, leveraging the inherent wisdom within.
Breaking down the mental component of the Conscious Oncology Wheel
Today, I'm covering the mental component of the Conscious Oncology Wheel, which includes understanding the conscious vs. subconscious mind, quieting the mind, and programming the mind for the desired result. It's all too common for the mind to spiral into overdrive, triggering overthinking and escalating stress levels in the body. Yet, when you learn to consciously harness your mind's potential, quieting it when necessary, you gain the ability to steer your healing process with greater calm and clarity.
Learn more about these three areas of the mental component of the wheel and why they're critical to your healing. You can watch the video or listen to the audio explanation below:
