Over the past few weeks, we've been building a solid foundation of understanding around what Conscious Oncology is.
In traditional Western oncology, the language around cancer can be so technical and complicated that it can cause confusion and overwhelm patients.
One of my main goals with Conscious Oncology is to lay a solid foundation of understanding how it works in an approachable, sensible, and down-to-earth way.
Remember, knowledge is power, and when you're armed with the right information, you can confidently make more informed choices for your health.
If you're ready to apply this framework to your own healing journey, you'll want to join the upcoming workshop series on healing cancer through the Conscious Oncology approach.
This series offers you the unique opportunity to delve deeper into Conscious Oncology and craft your own personalized treatment plan, tailored to your specific needs and circumstances.
We'll dive deep into the different components of the wheel to determine the practices that will support your personal healing process.
We start May 2nd – be sure to grab your spot here!
This week we’ll shift our focus from the physical component of the wheel into the emotional component.
Are past emotional traumas impacting your health?
If you are like most people, you have likely experienced some form of emotional trauma in your life, whether during childhood or adulthood.
On this week’s episode of the podcast, I’ll be sharing about the connection between emotional trauma and chronic illnesses such as cancer, diabetes, and heart disease.
Your body is intelligent.
And yet we’ve been taught that our body is ‘failing us’ when we receive a diagnosis.
The truth is, that your body is designed to protect you from shocking emotional events, and illnesses like cancer could be a sign of your body's attempt to shield you from emotional trauma.
On this week’s episode of the show, I share various modalities that can help you release emotional trauma without the risk of re-traumatization.
Key Takeaways
- Release Your Emotional Baggage with Powerful Healing Modalities
- Develop Emotional Fluency to Navigate Life's Ups And Downs With Ease
- Recognize That Suppressing Emotions Is a Survival Tactic That No Longer Serves You
- Embrace The Transformative Journey of Emotional Healing For a Healthier, More Grateful Life

Beyond addressing your past trauma, it’s incredibly important to develop your emotional fluency.
Unprocessed emotions are like carrying a heavy backpack filled with rocks, continuously weighing you down. Emotional fluency is the ability to experience emotions as an integral part of being human. While suppressing your emotions can be effective for survival in the short term, continuing to suppress them can lead to a buildup of unprocessed trauma that impacts both mental and physical health.
I’ll dive even deeper into the impact of unprocessed emotions and why increasing your emotional fluency is integral to your cancer healing process in Friday’s newsletter – stay tuned!
Much Love,
Dr. Katie
