Episode 126 | How to Stay Calm in Chaos Without Shutting Down Your Emotions for Healing

Free Guide – Your Beginner's Guide to Practicing Intuition

What if the instability you're feeling right now isn't something you need to fix, but something you can learn to move through with more grace?

The ground beneath your feet feels different lately. Relationships are ending unexpectedly. Plans you’ve spent years building aren’t unfolding the way you imagined. If that resonates, you’re not alone.

Dr. Katie Deming explains why so many people are experiencing this kind of upheaval at the same time, and how recognizing the larger pattern can change the way you move through what’s happening in your life right now.

She shares practical tools you can use immediately when fear, anger, or grief start to rise. These are the same techniques she teaches people healing from cancer and chronic illness, but they apply to anyone navigating uncertainty, loss, or major transition.

She breaks down why most of us process emotions in extremes, either shutting them down completely or feeling overwhelmed by them, and then introduces a third approach that allows emotions to move through the body without taking over.

Key Takeaways:

  • The body position that activates your whole brain and helps emotions process naturally
  • The breathing technique Dr. Katie uses to return to her center
  • How your frequency protects you when others are acting erratically
  • Why 2025 is a completion year and what it means for your life
  • The difference between processing feelings and bypassing them

Chapters:
04:29 – Why Everything Feels Like It's Falling Apart
06:30 – Using Frequency as Protection
11:29 – How to Let Emotions Move Without Overwhelming You
14:56 – The Brain Technique That Helps You Process Fear
18:30 – Why Suppressed Emotions Affect the Body
22:24 – Why the World Feels So Unstable Right Now
29:30 – Choosing Peace in the Middle of Chaos

Dr. Katie is sharing what she’s actively using in her own life to stay grounded during a time of intense personal and collective change, and that lived experience comes through clearly in every part of this conversation.

You’ll learn how activating both sides of the brain at the same time can help you ride the wave of difficult emotions instead of getting stuck in fear or avoidance. She also introduces a framework that links emotional states to levels of consciousness and frequency, helping explain why staying in fear or anger makes it harder to heal and make clear decisions.

She even explores how larger planetary and solar shifts, which scientists actively measure, may be contributing to the emotional “wobbliness” many people are feeling right now. Whether or not that perspective resonates with you, the tools she shares stand on their own.

This is not you pretending everything is fine when it isn’t, but learning how to find your center when life feels unstable, and remembering that even in chaos, you still have a choice.

Listen to learn how to find peace in the middle of chaos and use your frequency as your shield.

[00:00:00] Dr. Katie Deming MD: Hello and welcome back to the Born to Heal Podcast. My name is Dr. Katie Deming and I am your host. On today's episode, I want to talk to you about frequency and using your frequency as your shield. So. We are living in really challenging times. I, you know, just even if we talk about the content that I speak about all the time, which is illness and cancer, one in two [00:00:30] people developing cancer in their lifetime in 2025, but then also the, you know.

[00:00:36] Dr. Katie Deming MD: Epidemic of chronic illness and basically people not being well. But in addition to that, all of the social upheaval and the things, the violence that we haven't seen in the world, that all of these things just. Increasing and the world being a more challenging place to live in. I want to talk [00:01:00] to you about how you can use frequency as a tool to protect yourself right now.

[00:01:07] Dr. Katie Deming MD: Whether it is that you're healing and illness and that is your big challenge or whether. You're seeing things that are happening in the world and worried about that, you know, whether it's with AI or whether it's with the violence or the social upheaval, or the things that are, you know, happening politically.

[00:01:22] Dr. Katie Deming MD: There's so many things that could be affecting you right now, and I want to [00:01:30] teach you some of the tools that I use to keep the peace in my own life and also. The lives of the people that I serve. And this episode is actually an impromptu episode. I'm fasting. I'm currently on day four of a water fast myself.

[00:01:45] Dr. Katie Deming MD: But I am, doing this because I just got off a phone call with one of my colleagues who I work with, and she was going through something. There's something happening in her life. But then as you know, we started talking. It was like. [00:02:00] All the things in her life seem to be, you know, confronting her all at the same time.

[00:02:05] Dr. Katie Deming MD: And this is something that is a pattern that I'm seeing with a lot of people right now. So this is December of 2025 and I'm seeing a lot of people dealing with either relationships falling away or, relationships kind of imploding or things not coming together in their life and things that they had spent a long time building.

[00:02:28] Dr. Katie Deming MD: Falling away like [00:02:30] this is, and this actually ties to, you know, in numerology, 2025 is a nine year, which is a completion year, which means things are ending. There are things that are coming to a close in your lifetime that may not be. What you want to happen. Like for example, I described on the Signs and Synchronicity episode about, you know, my romantic relationship ending and then my director of operations who I loved leaving my business and [00:03:00] these things that I don't want to be happening but are happening.

[00:03:03] Dr. Katie Deming MD: And I talked about in that episode about surrendering to what is, and that's the first thing that I wanna say is that. Whatever is happening in your life is all happening exactly as it is supposed to be happening. Like everything in our lives, this is, these are my beliefs, so I don't, I don't wanna, I wanna be clear that if you believe something different and this doesn't resonate for with you, that's fine.

[00:03:29] Dr. Katie Deming MD: So I, [00:03:30] it's fine. You can turn it off, but. The way that I understand the human experience is that we choose the experiences that we have in this lifetime for our. Souls growth and evolution, like we are not just this little body in this 3D paradigm. I am Katie, but Katie is really just like the pinky nail on my, you know, pinky finger of my wholeness, right?

[00:03:59] Dr. Katie Deming MD: Like who? [00:04:00] My soul is, is so much bigger than just this little incarnation. And the same thing is true with all of us and that our higher self or our divine aspect of ourself guides us in the experiences that we have in this lifetime so that we can learn lessons. We can evolve and grow and bring more of that growth and evolution back into our wholeness when we leave this body.

[00:04:29] Dr. Katie Deming MD: And I do [00:04:30] know something about this just because of my experience having that shared death experience that opened up for me. Gifts around crossing the veil and outside of what this reality is. And you know, I, this has not been part of my practice, but it's becoming part of my practice. I'm actually, in fact, helping someone this afternoon transition.

[00:04:52] Dr. Katie Deming MD: And cross that threshold outside the veil. So I'm helping that person, you know, through a meditation, [00:05:00] connecting with them on a spiritual level to help them make that transition of leaving this realm of the 3D body into, you know, what's outside of this, which is the spirit realm and, and back into their wholeness.

[00:05:14] Dr. Katie Deming MD: And my mentor DX is also helping, assisting in that process, but. So the thing that I know is when we leave this body, we're confronted with how we lived our life and that we see that everything that happened is [00:05:30] absolutely perfect. So even if you're experiencing things that you would describe as like horrible or hard, like my colleague was just describing, she's like, it is so hard.

[00:05:39] Dr. Katie Deming MD: I'm so tired of life being hard. You know, if you're experiencing these things, you know, all of this is happening. For your growth and evolution, and that doesn't make it easier. Like, I'm not saying that that means like, you know, you're just supposed to run around, you know, acting like you're, you know, shooting rainbows out of your.

[00:05:59] Dr. Katie Deming MD: [00:06:00] You know, behind, it's like not, it's like I don't want you to pretend like everything is fantastic when you're going through a hard time, but understanding how you can process and release the emotions that are coming up when you're going through something really tough, and then cultivating a frequency that can protect you during these challenging times when there's so much.

[00:06:22] Dr. Katie Deming MD: Frenetic energy and people acting erratically and maybe people are leaving your life and maybe that's happening in a dramatic fashion. How do you [00:06:30] maintain your center and how do you use your frequency as your shield? So that's really what I want to wanna talk about today. And one of the things that I think is really helpful is to think about how emotions are tied to frequency.

[00:06:46] Dr. Katie Deming MD: And a lot of this work actually the foundation for it was created by David Hawkins. So he was a psychiatrist, but also ended up being really like an awakened being, towards the end of his career. And [00:07:00] he shared, He's written many books, but, uh, power versus Force is one of my favorite books by him.

[00:07:06] Dr. Katie Deming MD: But in there, and also I think in his other books, he has something called The Map of Consciousness. And the Map of consciousness is basically, it has. Emotions. So, and he has them listed from, low frequency emotions, up to high frequency emotions. And then he has the frequency that is associated with those emotions.

[00:07:29] Dr. Katie Deming MD: [00:07:30] And so at the bottom of this, diagram that he has, the lowest frequency emotions are shame, guilt, grief, fear. Anger, pride. And at the higher end of this frequency, the very highest is enlightenment, which most of us will not achieve within this lifetime, although hopefully. But this is, you know, something that is, not that I'm talking, I'm not talking about enlightenment at the moment in terms of how we can [00:08:00] use frequency, but at the very high end, just under enlightenment is peace and joy and love, and so.

[00:08:10] Dr. Katie Deming MD: When we think about using our frequency to as our shield, it's like how can we move through those low frequency emotions into peace, love, joy. And it's not about [00:08:30] like mowing over your experience and your emotions to get to that place I think one of the things that people confuse with frequency and emotions is they're like, oh, I'm like high vibration.

[00:08:43] Dr. Katie Deming MD: And it's like, oh, I gotta be all happy. And they're, you know, always in that like, happy, frenetic, kind of like excited state. That's actually not high frequency. High frequency is grounded, it's peaceful and it's [00:09:00] loving. And so there are ways that you can help yourself move from whatever emotions you're experiencing into the piece.

[00:09:09] Dr. Katie Deming MD: And that's actually one of the things that I love about water fasting. So I'm on day four today and I feel really good, like really calm in my center, really clear, really. Peaceful inside myself. And that is one of the things that I see through my fast is people [00:09:30] find that peace. And so one of the ways that you can get there is through fasting.

[00:09:35] Dr. Katie Deming MD: Fasting is a beautiful way to clear things out and learn how your body is just designed to clear out and detoxify and heal itself. And that experience gives you trust and, A deep peace inside yourself that, gosh, my body is really serving me and is always [00:10:00] working to create balance within myself. And so, but within the fast, so my fasters, we do more than just a fast.

[00:10:08] Dr. Katie Deming MD: I'm realizing this is another thing, is that I really have a protocol around healing that fasting is. Part of it, but we're doing so much other work, so we're working on the subconscious mind, we're doing emotional work. We're, you know, using, visualization and identity shifts, to help on the, with the conscious mind as well.

[00:10:29] Dr. Katie Deming MD: [00:10:30] And then we're also working on identity and becoming the most authentic version of yourself. So there's a lot of things that are play that are happening in the fast, but fasting is one way to like really. I would say jumpstart or like, you know, add like gasoline to the fire of creating this piece within yourself.

[00:10:50] Dr. Katie Deming MD: It's, it's just a beautiful tool that I've used, but the things that, that I teach my fasters to help them get to this state of [00:11:00] peace is really looking at. Okay, what am I experiencing? Like what is coming up for me? And allowing yourself to experience the emotions so that you can move through them and get to a place of feeling more peaceful and neutral.

[00:11:18] Dr. Katie Deming MD: basically when you. Activate both sides of your brain. You actually can process emotions in a much more fluid manner.

[00:11:29] Dr. Katie Deming MD: So there are ways that you [00:11:30] can do this. Like, so one example is you can cross your arms. If you're on YouTube, you can see the visual of this. But if you're just listing, so just crossing your arms and putting your hands kind of on, I've got 'em almost like on my upper biceps. Or shoulders and tapping. So just tapping.

[00:11:48] Dr. Katie Deming MD: Some people call this a butterfly tap where you can just, you're stimulating both sides of your body to activate both sides of your brain. Just doing that [00:12:00] is a very simple way to activate both sides of your brain, and when you activate both sides of your brain, you're able to recognize that emotions are really just a wave.

[00:12:14] Dr. Katie Deming MD: So most of the time when we experience emotions, we go either into our right side of our brain or our left side of our brain, and We experience emotions in a limited way, and we often end up pushing them down so that we don't experience them. And the reason why is because if [00:12:30] we're, you know, right brain, we're experiencing our emotions from the right side of our brain, that's more of an emotional response.

[00:12:37] Dr. Katie Deming MD: And people will find that they feel overwhelmed by the emotions and that maybe they're gonna lose control. And if they allow themselves to feel 'em, then they're gonna end up being like a puddle on the. Floor and just losing it to the emotions. And this is more of a feminine or female response to emotions, although this is not something that just women experience.

[00:12:57] Dr. Katie Deming MD: Men experience this as well, but it's [00:13:00] tends to be a more feminine experience of really having the emotions come through big and feeling like you're gonna lose control over them. And then if we go into the left side of the brain while we're experiencing emotions, that gets us into the logic brain or logical brain.

[00:13:15] Dr. Katie Deming MD: And you're basically like just gonna cut off the emotion. It's at its knees to not feel it because you're gonna rationalize your way out of it. And this tends to be a more masculine, experience of emotions. And, men [00:13:30] typically will have those kinds of experience with emotions, but just like I said, you know, it's not just men.

[00:13:35] Dr. Katie Deming MD: We all do both of these things. And honestly, for myself, you know, I realized that I have approached business and life in a very masculine way through most of my career. You know, it's like, and it, it served me well because. You can succeed in society with having this like doing and, you know, using your logical brain.

[00:13:58] Dr. Katie Deming MD: there had been like really a role for [00:14:00] that. And so for me, my tendency is to cut the emotions off, like to rationalize and then just cut 'em off because if I. Experience them. And then if I experience the right side, I like either lose it or feel like I'm gonna lose it and then I cut it off as well. And so you can see how when you're experiencing emotions from one side of the brain or the other, it's not the healthiest way to process emotions and we end up either, really being overcome by the emotions [00:14:30] or just logically shutting it down and not.

[00:14:33] Dr. Katie Deming MD: Not feeling it and suppressing it. And both of those things don't feel good, number one, but number two, they are not the best way to process and allow the emotions to run through you. But when you activate both sides of the brain and also what you're doing, you're activating the The frontal cortex as well as the more primitive parts of the brain, and you're connecting all of that.

[00:14:56] Dr. Katie Deming MD: So by, by activating doing the bilateral stimulation, not [00:15:00] only are you connecting the right and left side of the brain, you're also connecting the more primitive part of the brain to the cerebral cortex, and particularly the frontal lobe, which actually also helps with integration. So. I already told you about one technique that is where you can basically do bilateral stimulation by tapping both arms, like just.

[00:15:21] Dr. Katie Deming MD: You know, just you tap one at a time, just back and forth, kind of like a butterfly. and I, if you're listening to this and you wanna see it, just go to my [00:15:30] YouTube, channel, and you can see this episode on there. And, and I show it on that, visually so you can see. So that is one way. The other way that you can do it is you can actually cross your ankles or you, and cross your.

[00:15:42] Dr. Katie Deming MD: Hands. So basically you could put your arms out in front of you, cross one, um, wrist over the other, and grab the hands, like clasp your hands, and then just either put your hands in your lap or you can swing your hands around and you can, rest [00:16:00] your, hands under your chin. And again, if you're listening and you wanna go to YouTube and watch it, that would be helpful.

[00:16:05] Dr. Katie Deming MD: But you're gonna cross your ankles and then cross your wrists. And then clasp your hands. And what this does, this is something that's been used in many things. So Site K uses this, but this is not, unique to site K, nor is it trademarked by site K.

[00:16:20] Dr. Katie Deming MD: But basically you could call this like a hookup where you're hooking up both sides of your brain and also activating the front and the back parts of your brain to. [00:16:30] Bring the whole brain online while you're experiencing emotions. And if you do this and you process an emotion while you're in that position, what you'll notice is instead of the emotion just rising and rising, like if you were in your right brain and and feeling like it's gonna take you outta control, what you'll notice is that as you sit and breathe into the emotion, you notice that the emotion rises.

[00:16:57] Dr. Katie Deming MD: At some point it'll have a crest. [00:17:00] So there will be a crest to that wave, and then it'll start to slide down the other side and you'll start to feel more neutral. So you'll think about the same scenario. So just an example is like you could bring up something that is making you upset. So like if I were to use this, maybe I would be like, when I was going through the issues with my business, I would think about like, oh my gosh, what am I gonna do?

[00:17:24] Dr. Katie Deming MD: And like, you know. All the things that happen with, you know, losing a key [00:17:30] person in your business. When I would think about that, that would make me anxious. Like I was like nervous and fearful of what was gonna happen. So what I would do is I would bring that to mind. I would get myself in this position.

[00:17:43] Dr. Katie Deming MD: And I would just sit with it and I would breathe into that emotion and really feel what's coming up, which in that case is just fear of like, I'm just uncertain about what's gonna happen in my business. And I would sit with that until I notice that it starts to [00:18:00] lessen. It comes down and then eventually it feels kind of neutral or more neutral than where I started.

[00:18:08] Dr. Katie Deming MD: And then I'll go ahead and uncross, and you may need to do it multiple times, but this is a tool that you can use to ride that wave of the emotion without shutting it down and pushing it down into your body, which we know. Pushing emotions down into your body is not good. Ultimately, this can manifest in physical [00:18:30] illness, and so using a technique like this to just ride that wave is a way for you to become much more fluid with your emotions and to.

[00:18:41] Dr. Katie Deming MD: Once you neutralize that, then it's easier to come into a state of peace and love and gratitude. And you know, for me, I would like process that emotion and then I would be like, I'm so grateful for where this person has gotten my business and what I've been able to do as a result of [00:19:00] this partnership and that I'm at this spot now.

[00:19:02] Dr. Katie Deming MD: And obviously this is happening for me for a reason. So then I'm looking at like, okay, well it's gonna create something even better. And then I can be in gratitude for everything, the foundation that has been laid and move out of that. But the same thing is true, like say you're dealing with an illness and fear is a big thing that comes up for you is that you can process that fear and it is really, really [00:19:30] valuable for you to be reducing that fear and bringing it down to a more neutral state.

[00:19:37] Dr. Katie Deming MD: And so this is what we work on with my fasts, is that they are learning how to process their emotions. They're learning these tools so that they can process emotions in a very fluid way and learn how to be with them and as those emotions neutralize. So let's just take fear as fear neutralizes. [00:20:00] You're able to make better decisions about what ne what is next.

[00:20:04] Dr. Katie Deming MD: You're able to find the gratitude about what is the thing that you can be grateful for in this moment. You can then love the people that you're with. You know, because it's like cancer or having some kind of illness brings up your mortality, and it's like time is precious. Like this life that you have is precious.

[00:20:25] Dr. Katie Deming MD: But when you're in fear. You can't get to that. You can't get to the [00:20:30] gratitude. You can't get to good decision making. You can't get to a place where you can see the way out of this. You have to process those emotions to be able to get to a place where then you can. Shift your frequency into something higher.

[00:20:46] Dr. Katie Deming MD: And so that is one thing that I wanna say is that learning how to be fluid with your emotions is very, very powerful and it's something that is going to serve you. And you can't [00:21:00] just bypass the processing of emotions because then basically you're just shoving things down and when you shove things down, they will show up.

[00:21:09] Dr. Katie Deming MD: But they often show up in the most like. Inappropriate places where like then you're with your spouse or then you're with your kids and like they say something and you just like lose it. But it's not about that. It's because you're holding something inside that you're, you know, holding these emotions that are affecting your frequency of your body.

[00:21:28] Dr. Katie Deming MD: And so with [00:21:30] David Hawkins, scale of consciousness. The goal is not that we're gonna live up in love and peace and joy like a hundred percent of the time. No. We are emotional beings and we are affected, by the emotions of people around us, by the, the magnetics on the planet. And actually that's another thing that is happening right now, that the magnetics on the planet are shifting and,The actual like inner core of the earth was rotating in one [00:22:00] direction and. I feel like it was not this past summer, but maybe the summer before of 2024, that the scientists started to recognize that this is happening. And this affects the magnetics where, you know, the planet has magnetic poles and those magnets, those magnetic poles are shifting with these shifts that are happening on the earth.

[00:22:24] Dr. Katie Deming MD: And you know, actually this is a good, point to bring something up that I think is important. [00:22:30] So. There's a lot of things that are happening on the planet and with the sun, and like right now, you know, three i, Atlas is a, interstellar object that has entered into our solar system. It was first detected on July 1st, and then it's gone around the sun.

[00:22:45] Dr. Katie Deming MD: It was, you know, closest to the sun. It's perihelion on October 29th, and now it's coming back around and is supposed to have its closest pass back. Pass the Earth on December 19th, but this object is [00:23:00] having a big influence on our, planet and also our solar system in the sun right now. And so Stefan Burns is a geophysicist that I follow if you wanna know anything about like what's happening.

[00:23:13] Dr. Katie Deming MD: in terms of, I forget what the term is, like whether it's space, weather or what, but it's like we are being bombarded with all of these solar flares right now and they, you know, they come off as solar flares off the sun and then they hit us as like magnetic [00:23:30] storms and. This affects us because we are electromagnetic beings.

[00:23:36] Dr. Katie Deming MD: The human body is an electromagnetic mechanism, and so the reason why this ties to frequency and emotions is that emotions are magnetic. And so when the magnetics on the planet are, you know, off, this is, I'll just say that like right now it's like off my mentor would describe it as wobbly. Like [00:24:00] the, the magnetics on the planet are kind of, are shifting and it's making people feel from an emotional standpoint kind of wobbly.

[00:24:07] Dr. Katie Deming MD: Like you don't feel like you can find your ground. And so. Not only are we in this time of a like a nine year where things are coming to completion and coming into like a new year in 2026 of like something brand new. With it being a one year in numerology. We also have all this stuff that's happening with the magnets on the planet and [00:24:30] then with this interstellar object that's entered into our solar system and is affecting the sun, and the sun is affecting us.

[00:24:37] Dr. Katie Deming MD: This is all affecting your emotions. Okay? And I know this probably sounds like really strange for a lot of you. Like, but this is real. Like this is stuff that I know. This is not like I'm making stuff up. This is stuff that you can, if you follow someone like Stefan Burns, you'll see these are all recorded and measured, and this is all stuff that is [00:25:00] affecting us.

[00:25:00] Dr. Katie Deming MD: We have just never taught anything about this. We're only just taught about the weather, you know, with like rain or sun or whatever, but not talking about the energy that's coming from the sun. And this is something that is changing in our world and it's affecting people. If you look around, you know, it's not just the health stuff.

[00:25:18] Dr. Katie Deming MD: The health stuff, I think has to do with, you know, less about maybe the shifts on the planet and more about the fact that our food system is, you know, poisoned and we have a health [00:25:30] system that is designed to keep people sick. And, you know, all of those things like the illness may have to do with that, but the behavior of people on the planet is different today.

[00:25:41] Dr. Katie Deming MD: You just, all you have to do is just look on social media, turn on the news. Please don't turn on the news. But, nobody should be watching the news because I frankly think that it is not correct and it is, you know, filtered in a way that is like really too. Gin you up, like, get you all worked [00:26:00] up, which we don't need right now.

[00:26:01] Dr. Katie Deming MD: So, but if you look on social media, if you look at the news, if you look at what's happening in your neighborhood and in your, you know, state and things are really chaotic right now, and people are having trouble managing their emotions. And so this is happening for all of us. So it's more important now than ever.

[00:26:25] Dr. Katie Deming MD: To learn how to process your emotions, to be with your [00:26:30] emotions, to let things run through you, to find your center. Because if you don't, you are gonna be wobbly and you're gonna be affected by all of these energies. And also the other people acting erratic around you, you know, and you can't. Change what's happening around you.

[00:26:49] Dr. Katie Deming MD: We can't change what's happening with the other people who are, you know, choosing into, whether it's fear or anger or you know, all of those things. And in acting that [00:27:00] out, we can't impact that. We can't do anything about what other people are doing. The only thing that we can control is how we respond.

[00:27:09] Dr. Katie Deming MD: And so I'm offering you the invitation to. Look at ways that you can find the peace within yourself. So we talked about one tool that is basically the cross body activation. So you're activating both sides of the brain so that you're experiencing emotions in a whole brain state. Another very powerful [00:27:30] tool that you always have with you is your breath.

[00:27:33] Dr. Katie Deming MD: And this is the one that I use the most often is I just use four eight breathing. I find myself starting to get like, you know, feel outta sorts or activated by something and I'm just like, I don't know what's going on, and I just, okay, go to my breath, bring myself back within myself. You know, you can also listen to frequencies.

[00:27:52] Dr. Katie Deming MD: So, there are apps that, you can listen to frequencies, you can listen to them on, um, YouTube. so, you know, [00:28:00] 4 32, 5 28. These are some frequencies that I'll love to listen to. I've recently found, A gentleman who does golden, ratio frequencies, and I think his name is Bono Wynn. Um, but I don't have any affiliation with him and I, and also I think you can only buy it through Instagram, but those are, those are some frequencies that are really beautiful.

[00:28:22] Dr. Katie Deming MD: But, so you can listen to frequency that can help you, but you have to do, it's more important about the emotions than listening to [00:28:30] frequency because the frequency that you create from, with. Thin is the most powerful. But I like to use frequencies to kind of calm me, to bring myself back into a state of where I want to be.

[00:28:41] Dr. Katie Deming MD: those are some things that you can do. And the other thing is that, with watching the world right now. It's easy to get into fear or anger and just be like, why is this happening? Like, what is going on? Why is the world go going so crazy? But the thing [00:29:00] is, is that when you go into that, when you start getting caught up in what's happening.

[00:29:05] Dr. Katie Deming MD: You're basically throwing an anchor down into that low frequency and dragging yourself down. Like what we want to be doing is like imagine yourself in a hot air balloon. What we want to be doing is we want to be raising our frequency. We want to be rising, right? So the way that we do that is we process our emotions, we release them, we find ways to [00:29:30] cultivate joy and stay within our center, and that helps us rise.

[00:29:34] Dr. Katie Deming MD: If you look outside yourself and you start getting caught up in all of the things that are happening, you're basically just dropping an anchor out of that hot air balloon and it's gonna bring you right down. So, and I think, you know, this is actually on the call that I just had with my colleague is that she kept bringing up like, but it's so hard.

[00:29:55] Dr. Katie Deming MD: Like you don't know the stuff that I'm going through and I just wanna say to [00:30:00] you. I know, I know what it's like to have a hard life, and I've been through a lot of stuff and a lot of stuff that I don't talk about on this podcast, so I know what it's like to have a hard life, and you still have a choice.

[00:30:15] Dr. Katie Deming MD: So before you go dismissing me and saying, oh, but you don't know what my life is like. All of us have stuff. Everyone has stuff. And I will tell you that getting into [00:30:30] the anger, the fear, all of that stuff, when you're going through something is not serving you. So you can do it. I'm, and I'm, there's nothing wrong.

[00:30:39] Dr. Katie Deming MD: Like you get to choose how you're going to experience life, but if you want to use this life. To grow and evolve, which is basically what we're here to do. You have to let it go. The past doesn't exist. The only thing that exists is this moment. And the longer you [00:31:00] hold onto all of those things in your backpack, the rocks that you've piled in there, and maybe they've been given to you, you know, maybe things have happened to you that you feel like are really out of your control.

[00:31:13] Dr. Katie Deming MD: You still have the choice to put down the backpack or to take out the rocks, and that's what I'm encouraging you to do because it's more important now than ever, like ever, ever before. It's so important in the world that we're [00:31:30] living in, for you to find the peace within yourself to put down the stick that you've been, you know?

[00:31:36] Dr. Katie Deming MD: Beating yourself with or put down the backpack that you've been carrying of your trauma for so long. And I understand that this is not easy work and there are, you know, I do think that you need people to help you on this path. And so, you know, finding a practitioner who can help you with some of the release work is really important.

[00:31:55] Dr. Katie Deming MD: But in the moment when you start feeding into those stories, [00:32:00] stop, breathe. Process the emotion and bring yourself back to the center because your frequency is impacted in this moment and the past, that that has already happened. It's ultimately a choice as to whether or not you're gonna carry that forward, and you're gonna bring that into every moment.

[00:32:22] Dr. Katie Deming MD: So. I wanted to share this because I really think this message is important at this time in the world and with everything we're [00:32:30] experiencing. And absolutely if someone's on a healing journey, this is so crucial, like in order to make good decisions to actually get the best result, which all of you want, and I want that for you.

[00:32:41] Dr. Katie Deming MD: You have to learn how to get in your center and how to process the emotions and not get trapped in these cycles of fear or anger or guilt or shame or whatever it is. And so I leave that, leave this message with you, and I just want you to know that this comes from so much love and a [00:33:00] place of wanting to serve you.

[00:33:02] Dr. Katie Deming MD: I know that a lot of people are gonna be triggered by this, and that's okay. Like, it's okay. I'm, I'm not saying that you caused any of the things that are happening in your life intentionally, but I do think that it's all part of a plan that you have created for yourself. And if you can see that and if you can learn how to grow from each of these things and find your balance, find your center.

[00:33:25] Dr. Katie Deming MD: You're gonna be so much better off for it. and ultimately that's what [00:33:30] helps us move through the challenges that we experience in our lives.
